Howling Bells

Howling Bells are an Australian-British indie-rock band whose atmospheric sound combines Juanita Stein’s distinctive vocals with Joel Stein’s textured guitar work. The original lineup also includes Brendan Picchio and Glenn Moule. The band broke through with its self-titled debut in 2006 before releasing Radio Wars, The Loudest Engine and Heartstrings. After a twelve-year gap between albums, Howling Bells reunited their original lineup through Nude Records for Strange Life. Led by ‘Heavy Lifting’ and the earlier comeback track ‘Unbroken’, the album explores endurance, transformation and rediscovery while reconnecting the group with the moody intensity of its earlier catalogue.
