River Rayne

River Rayne is an alt-folk and folk-punk songwriter whose work combines DIY production with autobiographical storytelling. Their nine-track debut LP opens with spoken word before moving through songs inspired by friendships, anxiety and the experiences that shaped their identity. ‘Darling’ features friend and fellow musician IZZY, retaining the open character of a demo, while ‘someone get this guy a therapist’ confronts anxiety with contributions from US punk band Bloody Crying Twinks. River Rayne treats songwriting as a community process, incorporating collaborators and listeners into the story surrounding the release while preserving the directness and personal detail of the songs.
