Saint Etienne

London

Saint Etienne are a London pop group formed by childhood friends Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs, with singer Sarah Cracknell joining soon afterwards. Across albums including Foxbase Alpha, So Tough, Tiger Bay and Good Humor, the trio have connected indie pop, house, ambient music and northern soul with lyrics shaped by place, memory and everyday British life. International was announced as their final studio album after a 35-year recording career, although the group planned to continue existing and performing. Lead single ‘Glad’, co-produced by Tom Rowlands and featuring Jez Williams, places shimmering synths and guitar around a song about finding pleasure in nature and ordinary experiences during difficult periods.
