The Elidas reflect on lost moments with new indie folk single ‘Hyacinth’

Scotland
The Elidas are a Scottish indie-folk duo formed by sisters Venice Herrera and Belle Herrera. Their music centres close vocal harmonies and acoustic songwriting while drawing additional colour from guitar, bass, banjo, steel guitar, piano and percussion. ‘Hyacinth’ explores regret, hindsight and the recognition that intense feelings can distort perspective. Written together at home, the track expanded the duo’s recording process through contributions from drummer Dan Lifton, pianist Neil Milton and producer James E Philps. The arrangement retains the sisters’ intimate core while adding new instrumental textures, reflecting their ability to develop their sound without losing the natural chemistry between their voices.
