Hunter Daily bares her soul on stirring new single ‘Claw Marks’

Hunter Daily returns with ‘Claw Marks’, a haunting new single that doubles as the title track of her upcoming EP, arriving 12th September. Honest and emotionally exposed, the song captures the brutal ache of heartbreak with striking lyrical detail and soft, aching vocals.

Built around shimmering pop textures and folk-inspired instrumentation, ‘Claw Marks’ channels the same emotional clarity found in early Taylor Swift or Gracie Abrams. The production may be delicate, but the feelings cut deep. This is a song for the moments when moving on is anything but clean.

“‘Claw Marks’ came from the pain of watching someone I loved walk away like it was easy,” Hunter explained. “While I was still holding on for dear life. After the end of my 4.5-year relationship, letting go wasn’t clean. It was messy, desperate, and it left marks.”

The track paints that moment in vivid colour. Each verse reflects the turmoil of holding on too tightly, the way emotional attachment leaves behind invisible scars. It is this raw perspective that makes the single feel so relatable to anyone who has struggled with letting go.

Hunter added, “This song came from that place of holding on too long, and it’s for anyone who’s experienced being broken up with and just needs something to crash out to.” That catharsis is embedded in every note. While soft on the surface, the song builds with quiet intensity and emotional weight.

The release of ‘Claw Marks’ follows last month’s single ‘Dead End’, which explored the pain of temptation and post-breakup confusion. Together, both tracks begin to shape the themes of Claw Marks, the new EP set to explore heartbreak, identity and emotional growth from a deeply personal lens.

A voice ready for the next chapter

Born and based in Los Angeles, Hunter began crafting songs in high school. Since then, she has steadily carved out her own sound, one that combines sweetness with substance. Her debut EP Die In LA, released in 2023, offered an unfiltered look at the pressures of growing up in the shadow of Hollywood, earning her a growing fanbase and critical support.

She has been featured on the cover of Spotify’s Next Gen Singer-songwriter playlist, highlighted by Galore, Wonderland and Atwood Magazine, and played on iHeart Radio. Her catalog has already surpassed six million streams, and her ability to connect through emotionally direct lyrics continues to set her apart.

Sitting comfortably alongside artists like Lizzy McAlpine, Holly Humberstone and Gracie Abrams, Hunter is now stepping into her next phase with confidence. ‘Claw Marks’ proves she is not afraid to get messy, vulnerable or honest. It also shows how much strength can come from admitting what hurts.
