Powerhouse soulful pop artist Official Shannon is kicking off the summer with her most confident release to date. Her new single ‘TMI’ lands on Friday 20th June and marks the beginning of an exciting new era for the East London-based talent.
‘TMI’ blends infectious R&B grooves with Shannon’s signature vocal strength and unshakable message of empowerment. Created with the songwriting and production duo Sundown, made up of Georgia Lowe and Archer Levy, the track was inspired by a studio session filled with energy and the sounds of Jill Scott’s 2004 classic ‘Golden’. That influence shows up in the lyrics, particularly in the uplifting line “I’m living my life like it’s golden.”
The track challenges the way women and minority groups are often judged or misunderstood. It is a bold call to stop apologising for being expressive, emotional or outspoken. Rather than shrinking to fit someone else’s expectations, Shannon encourages listeners to lean into who they really are and be proud of it.
Industry buzz continues to grow
Shannon has already been building anticipation for the single. A preview of ‘TMI’ recently aired on Doncaster Radio’s Farah’s Music Radar, and BBC Introducing in Essex and Cambridgeshire have spotlighted her as a rising star. That early support has helped create a buzz around what many believe could be her biggest release yet.
The singer-songwriter has already made waves with earlier releases such as ‘Dress to Please’, which landed her a place on the Glastonbury Emerging Talent longlist. Her live performances have turned heads too, with sets at Ronnie Scott’s, The Ned and the Copper Box Arena. She also performed at EFG London Jazz Festival, showcasing her versatility and powerful stage presence.
