Klaudia doubles down on feeling with alt-pop single ‘X2’

London-based artist Klaudia blends polished pop hooks, rock-rooted energy and emotional honesty on ‘X2’, a new single about finally giving in to feelings you can no longer fight.

Klaudia returns with ‘X2’, a new alt-pop single arriving on 29th May 2026 that leans fully into the rush of finally feeling something instead of holding it back. Built around punchy drums, electric guitar textures, shimmering synths and big hook-driven production, the track sounds designed to hit with both clarity and lift, balancing emotional honesty with a bright, high-gloss pop finish.

At its heart, ‘X2’ is about surrender. More specifically, it is about that moment when overthinking finally loses its grip and emotion takes over instead. Klaudia frames the track around the choice to stop protecting yourself from what you feel, and to lean into adrenaline, freedom and vulnerability at full volume. That gives the single a strong emotional core straight away, but it also gives it the kind of immediacy that suits pop music at its most effective.

A polished pop release with rock roots underneath

Written in a small East London studio with Australian producer Charlotte Adelle, ‘X2’ pulls together two sides of Klaudia’s musical identity. On one side there is the polished, glossy pop energy, full of warmth, momentum and easy melodic pull. On the other there is the rock influence she grew up on, which gives the song a little more bite and shape beneath the shine. That combination feels central to what makes the release interesting. It is not just aiming to be catchy; it also wants to feel lived-in and emotionally convincing.

The list of reference points helps explain that mix. The release positions Klaudia somewhere between the slick pop instincts associated with Sabrina Carpenter and the emotional intensity linked here to Ashton Irwin, while still grounding the song in her own world. She is presented as a London-based artist building songs for overthinkers, hopeful romantics, late-night drives and people who feel everything deeply, and ‘X2’ sounds like a natural extension of that framing. It is cinematic, direct and built to move, but it still keeps its feelings close enough to matter.

There is also a wider story around where this single sits. ‘X2’ follows previous releases from her forthcoming debut EP Renovations, and the language around the project suggests an artist building a consistent sonic world rather than just chasing one-off singles. Emotional honesty, modern pop textures and a willingness to embrace every shade of feeling appear to be the through-line. In that sense, ‘X2’ feels less like a detour and more like another well-placed step towards a fuller introduction.

‘X2’ Review

‘X2’ sounds like a lot of fun. The strongest thing about it on paper is the sense that Klaudia knows exactly what kind of pop song she wants to make and is not shy about going for it. There is sparkle here, there is movement, and there is also a proper emotional hook underneath it all, which stops the whole thing from feeling weightless. A song about giving in to feeling should have a bit of lift and a bit of danger to it, and this sounds like it understands that.

What I like most is the tension between the glossy finish and the more rock-shaped instinct underneath. That gives ‘X2’ a little more character than a straightforward polished pop track might have had on its own. It suggests Klaudia is not just interested in sounding sleek, but in sounding like herself. If the rest of Renovations carries that same balance of immediacy, emotion and confidence, then she could be putting together a very promising debut EP.
