Goth never died. It just retreated into the shadows and waited for Mouth Ulcers to come along.

Fronted by Zak Watson, Mouth Ulcers are part of a new generation rediscovering the darker possibilities of post-punk, drawing on the brooding atmospheres of Joy Division, the theatrical menace of Bauhaus and the hypnotic guitar work of early The Cure.

Their sound is built around cavernous guitars, melodic basslines, relentless rhythms and vocals that seem to emerge from somewhere deep within a particularly unsettling dream.

With their distinctive identity and growing momentum, 2027 could be the year they emerge from the underground into considerably larger rooms.

The future is bright.
