Fiona-Lee has released her second EP Every Woman, arriving alongside the video for its focus track ‘Rational’. The six-track project presents the Yorkshire-based songwriter at her most direct and emotionally revealing, pairing introspective writing with expansive production from Thom Lewis.
Speaking about ‘Rational’, Fiona-Lee said the song explores life with anxiety and the fear of how others may perceive you when your thoughts feel out of control. Written during a period of health anxiety, she described wanting to balance that emotional weight with lighter energy, using the track to reach for joy, release and carelessness in the face of panic.
Every Woman also includes the previously released songs ‘Every Woman’, ‘Not My Friends’ and ‘Imposter’. As a full body of work, the EP centres on the pressures, insecurities and inner spiralling that can come with being a young woman today, while also pushing towards resilience, self-possession and moments of peace.
Live dates and rising momentum
The release lands as Fiona-Lee continues to build her live profile. Her upcoming dates include headline shows at The New Adelphi Club in Hull on 25 April, Paper Dress Vintage in London on 29 April and Deaf Institute in Manchester on 30 April, before further appearances through May and summer support slots with Paul Weller and The Maccabees.
That momentum has been matched by strong early support across press and radio, with praise from titles including The Observer, DIY, Dork, Clash, Rolling Stone UK and Under The Radar. With Every Woman now out digitally, Fiona-Lee’s latest release feels like another significant step forward for one of Yorkshire’s most promising emerging voices.
Review
There is a clear emotional purpose running through this release, and that focus gives the EP its strength. Even in the way Fiona-Lee describes ‘Rational’, there is a sense of turning difficult internal experiences into something melodic, immediate and open, which suggests a songwriter who understands how to make vulnerability feel expansive rather than closed in.
What stands out most about Every Woman is the balance between intimacy and scale. The themes are personal, but the framing points to bigger ambitions, with soaring guitars and a vocal approach built to carry well beyond small-room confessionals. It makes this EP feel less like a tentative next move and more like a confident statement of intent.
