Holly Humberstone returns with a refreshed version of fan-favourite single ‘Dive’, this time reimagined with rising singer and actor Asha Banks. Released on 25th July, the collaboration celebrates connection, shared emotion, and the unexpected journeys a song can take.
Originally featured on Holly’s 2024 EP Work In Progress, ‘Dive’ stood out as a raw and vulnerable moment. With minimal production and a quietly aching vocal, the track explores doubt, longing and emotional distance. It quickly gained cult status among fans, who connected to its honesty and sense of quiet reflection.
One of those fans was Asha Banks. While filming the global hit My Fault: London, she added the song to her personal playlist and soon introduced it to the directors on set. The track left such an impression that it became the closing song of the film, setting the tone before Asha’s own track ‘Feel The Rush’ entered. From that moment, ‘Dive’ became more than a personal favourite. It became part of Asha’s performance process, anchoring her emotionally in the character she portrayed.
A shared moment, re-recorded
That early connection laid the groundwork for what followed. When Holly learned about the film and Asha’s involvement with the song, she reached out with an invitation to collaborate. The pair recorded a new version of ‘Dive’, blending Holly’s signature vulnerability with Asha’s soft, expressive delivery.
Ahead of the single release, the duo surprised fans with a stripped-back live performance of ‘Dive’ at Queen Caroline’s Temple in Hyde Park. Filmed just before Asha’s headline appearance at BST, the moment captured the quiet power of the track and the genuine connection between the two artists.
In a statement, Holly described working with Asha as a joy, praising her vocals and expressing how meaningful it was to see her song take on new life. Asha called the project a full-circle experience and spoke of her admiration for Holly’s writing and voice.
Both artists continue to grow their creative paths. Holly, known for her emotionally resonant songwriting, has earned acclaim for her debut album Paint My Bedroom Black and has toured across the world. Asha recently released her debut EP Untie My Tongue, while also leading major acting roles on screen. She is set to appear in two upcoming sequels, Your Fault: London and Our Fault: London.
Together, their version of ‘Dive’ offers something deeper. It is a shared expression of vulnerability, strength, and the unexpected connections art can create. The new version is available from 25th July.
