Rosie Gault unveils stunning debut EP “Songs From Winter”

Rosie Gault is preparing to release her debut EP Songs From Winter in a series of four emotionally resonant singles. Each track is arriving weekly in the run-up to 11th August 2025, when the full collection will become available on all streaming platforms. With soft acoustic textures and heartfelt songwriting, the EP positions Rosie as one of the most compelling new voices in British music.

Written in a single December in her rural Lincolnshire hometown, the EP captures the hush of winter and the rawness of reflection. Rather than relying on heavy production, Rosie opts for simplicity – letting lyrics, harmonies and space between phrases do the emotional heavy lifting.

A four-part story unfolding each week

The EP’s release unfolds like a chaptered diary, each song offering a different lens on personal transformation. The first track opens with calm waves and gentle guitar, setting a peaceful stage for Rosie’s vocals. Her harmonies shimmer without overwhelming, and the emotional clarity in her delivery is breathtaking.

The second single brings a subtle shift in pace. There’s a warmth and intimacy in Rosie’s voice as she explores themes of change and distance. A soft pop sensibility adds quiet momentum, but the heart of the song remains rooted in unflinching honesty.

By the third release, Rosie turns her lens inward. Ambient harmonies, birdsong and woozy guitar create a dreamlike haze that holds space for quiet reflection. Her lyrics examine past choices and emotional complexity with grace and vulnerability.

The final track, set for release on 11th August, brings the EP to a quietly powerful close. It’s a stark and intimate piece, with Rosie’s voice accompanied only by piano. Stripped of adornment, it lands with a raw emotional truth that lingers long after the last note.

Review

Songs From Winter stands out as a beautifully cohesive debut. Rosie Gault’s voice commands attention with its natural emotional depth. Whether she’s harmonising with herself or letting a lyric sit unadorned, she holds the listener’s focus. Her songs don’t beg for sympathy – they invite quiet recognition, gently echoing things we’ve all felt.

The production, led by Sofy Bilaya, does a masterful job of staying out of the way. Every ambient detail, every guitar line or texture serves the story. Nothing feels overthought or unnecessary. As a result, the EP flows like a confessional, each track unfolding with sincerity.

Rosie doesn’t rely on theatrical gestures or grand choruses. Instead, she offers small, meaningful moments – the kind that stick. For a debut, Songs From Winter feels remarkably self-assured. With a voice this honest and writing this sharp, Rosie Gault is undoubtedly an artist to watch closely.
