For the past few weeks, you turned voting into a celebration. You backed the releases you loved, replayed, and talked about all year, and the response spoke volumes. Album or EP of 2025 became a snapshot of what stuck, what travelled with you, and what earned a permanent place on your playlists.

The final list brings together five releases that captured attention for very different reasons, yet all landed in the same place. They connected. Here are your Albums and EPs of 2025.

5. Foxglove – Night Drive

Night Drive feels made for listeners who love sitting inside a mood. Foxglove delivers a tightly focused EP that knows exactly what it wants to be, from the opening moments through to the final track. The atmosphere stays consistent, calm, and immersive, which makes it perfect for late nights and long listens. Because nothing feels rushed, the project invites you to stay with it. Readers clearly did, lifting Night Drive into this year’s Top Five.

4. Idele – I Wish I Never Knew You

Idele’s debut EP lands with warmth, confidence, and personality in every track. Blending alt-R&B, soul, and nostalgic touches, the project feels playful without losing emotional honesty. Her lyrics feel conversational and self-aware, which makes each song easy to connect with. That balance helped I Wish I Never Knew You stand out as a debut people genuinely enjoyed spending time with. Readers showed strong love for an EP that feels comfortable, expressive, and full of character.

3. Croíthe – A Brief Respite

Croíthe brought urgency, grit, and heart to this year’s list. A Brief Respite delivers raw post-punk energy through driving guitars and emotionally charged vocals from Caodan Connolly. While the sound hits hard, the themes of struggle, love, and defiance give the EP real depth. Because the band keeps things honest and direct, the release feels grounded rather than polished for effect. That sincerity helped A Brief Respite strike a chord with readers across the vote.

2. Emily Volt – TV Stopped Working

Coming in at second place, TV Stopped Working is an EP that effortlessly combines confidence, storytelling, and emotional texture. Emily Volt’s songwriting feels both immediate and layered, drawing listeners in from the first note and rewarding repeat plays with small, clever details. The production balances tension and release perfectly, giving each track a distinct identity while serving the EP as a whole. Tracks stand out individually, yet the collection flows as a cohesive story that feels honest and unfiltered. Readers responded to the way Emily makes space for subtle moments of vulnerability alongside her sharper, punchy lyrics. It’s clear why TV Stopped Working resonated so strongly: it’s an EP that feels personal but inviting, clever but warm-a second-place finish that celebrates a release deserving of attention all year long.

1. Grace Calver – Blue

The winner of Album or EP of 2025, Grace Calver’s Blue reflects the connection readers feel with her songwriting more than any other release this year. Released as a Bandcamp exclusive, the EP feels intentionally personal and close to the listener. Tracks like ‘So Last Season’ and ‘Love Me Not’ lead with emotional clarity, while ‘Nothing Too Serious’ and ‘Milk’ bring warmth and relatability. The closing track, ‘twenty-six days’, remains exclusive to the EP, giving readers something truly tied to this release alone. Because the production stays stripped back, Grace’s voice and lyrics shine throughout. Your votes made it clear that Blue made a huge impact for many of you this year and it’s especially exciting to see a release that wasn’t available via streaming to get as much interest as this did.

When informed of her win Grace said:

“Fabulous news! Thank you so much to everyone who voted for the blue EP and to Tune Fountain for the nomination. I wanted to put these 5 songs onto a physical CD as they told the story of the last year for me and the response has been amazing! Thank you for listening to my music and to Tune Fountain for the support when I’ve released the singles from the EP this year. Big thanks also to my producer Jos Shepherd who understands what I want my music to be and puts up with my ideas that there should be more cowbell. There is also one more song from the EP to be released on streaming platforms early next year!”
