Alex Amor announces debut album Heavenly Bodies with new single ‘Icarus’

Scottish singer-songwriter Alex Amor shares new single ‘Icarus’ and unveils details of her debut album Heavenly Bodies, a 12-track release arriving in August.

Alex Amor has announced her debut album Heavenly Bodies, due for release on 21st August 2026, alongside new single ‘Icarus’, which is out now. For the Scottish singer-songwriter, the announcement marks a major step forward, pairing a full-length debut with a song that leans into dreamlike tension and emotional fallout.

Led by reverb-soaked drums and slow-burning, guitar-driven arrangements, ‘Icarus’ centres on the helplessness of watching someone disappear into self-destruction. Drawing on Greek mythology, Alex Amor uses the myth of Icarus as a way into a more grounded and painful story: loving someone who is chasing oblivion, and reaching the point where care is no longer enough to save them. It gives the single a strong emotional pull, while keeping one foot in the hazy, melodic alt-pop world she has been building across her earlier releases.

A full-length debut shaped by reflection and scale

Heavenly Bodies expands those ideas further, weaving together celestial imagery, spirituality and the emotional complexity of human connection across 12 tracks. Written and recorded between London and Glasgow, the album was made with close collaborators Peter Brien, Baz Kaye and Karma Kid, before being mixed by Matthew Neighbour and mastered by Katie Tavini. The tracklist includes ‘As Above, So Below’, ‘Seeing Angels’, ‘Meet On The Moon’, ‘Aqua Marine’, ‘Avalanche’, ‘This Must Be The End’, ‘Icarus’, ‘Still Your Girl’, ‘Sweet Loathing’, ‘Inside’, ‘Roses’ and ‘Only The Beginning’.

The release also arrives with live dates already in the diary. Alex Amor plays The Great Escape in Brighton on 15th May and Footsteps Festival in London on 21st May, continuing a run that has already seen her build momentum through three EPs, more than 7 million streams, and festival appearances including TRNSMT, Liverpool Sound City, Live at Leeds and Dot To Dot. With Heavenly Bodies, she now moves into a bigger frame, bringing together the diaristic writing and hypnotic production that have defined her work so far.
