Roxanne de Bastion

London

Roxanne de Bastion is a London-based independent singer-songwriter whose work pairs incisive storytelling with a sound that has moved through acoustic songwriting, modern pop, alt-pop and gritty electro-rock. From the intimate narratives of early EP Seeing You to the Bernard Butler-produced album You & Me, We Are The Same, Roxanne has explored love, loss, identity and suppressed frustration through direct lyrics and memorable melodies.

Alongside extensive touring, Roxanne has expanded her storytelling into literature and family history through The Piano Player of Budapest, a book and accompanying musical project inspired by her Hungarian-Jewish grandfather Stephen’s survival during the Holocaust. Later releases including ‘Skin’ and ‘Simple Pleasures’ have introduced louder guitars, driving synths and a more outward-looking edge while keeping thoughtful writing at the centre of her music.
