Shak Jackson

Shak Jackson is a Sheffield-based house producer channelling the euphoric spirit of the early ’90s into music built for contemporary dancefloors.

A former physiotherapist who swapped her clinic for decks and production in her forties, Jackson has quickly carved out her own corner of underground house: raw piano, rolling basslines, acid, breaks and an unwavering belief in the restorative possibilities of a very large beat.

Her breakthrough Frisson found a home on legendary dance label Hooj Choons and received a Radio 1 premiere from Franky Wah, followed by the Routes 12″ and a growing catalogue of defiantly uplifting releases.

Independent, female and arriving by an unconventional route, Jackson makes house music with its original purpose intact.
