The Molotovs after playing Sheffield Foundry, September 2026

The Molotovs

The Molotovs are London siblings Mathew and Issey Cartlidge, a teenage mod-punk collision built the old-fashioned way: gig by gig, pub by pub, street by street.

Formed in 2020, they clocked up more than 600 shows before debut album Wasted On Youth crashed into the UK chart at No.3 in 2026.

Drawing on The Jam, punk, power-pop and generations of British guitar noise, their songs combine youthful frustration with an increasingly sharp eye for the world around them. Now pushing towards second album Welcome To Urbia, The Molotovs remain what they were before the hype arrived: loud, restless and seemingly incapable of taking a night off.
