The Sundays revisit their debut release 'Reading, Writing and Arithmetic' with a brand new pressing and a return to more…

The Sundays
London, UK
Formed in Bristol in 1988 by vocalist Harriet Wheeler and guitarist David Gavurin, The Sundays swam against the prevailing indie tide at the time, delivering introspective and fragile songs against paired back instrumentation. Signed to Rough Trade after a brief bidding war, the band delivered their debut album in early 1990, garnering entry into the UK top ten album chart.
Their initial music press adulation did not last and, after several years away, their two subsequent albums were less well received and failed to be a commercial success. The band all but disappeared in 1997 after their third studio album and have never resurfaced since. Although never officially calling it a day it appears increasingly unlikely that the world will see any more releases from this enigmatic quartet.
