Izzy S.O - Silly Me EP

This is an unforgettable release that rounds off one of the most exciting years of music by an artist we’ve only known about for a few months.

Wow. It’s hard not to fall into the trap of saying everything is “the best ever” when every day we’re introduced to so much brilliant music. Therefore I don’t take it lightly when I say that Izzy S.O has released what might be our favourite EP of the year. The five track collection features three previously released singles alongside the newest single ‘Growing Pains’ and one further unheard track – ‘Do I Make You Feel Alive Yet?’.

Each track is remarkably different. Opening with the wonderfully playful ‘Silly Me’ which is the kind of thing Avril Lavigne would have released at the height of career. We’ve already raved about it but there’s no doubt that you’re in for something special with everything that follows.

‘Without You I Don’t Like Sundays’ is again a single we’ve already told you multiple times how much we love, and it’s lost none of its sparkle. It has the same rock-tinged sparkle as the previous single with a killer hook – you’ll be humming it for days.

Things take a slight detour with the delicate and beautiful ‘Would We Make It’; which really shows just how wonderful a vocalist Izzy is. There are moments where her voice brings on the biggest goosebumps and there’s no doubt that this music that would be the highlight of any musician’s catalogue.

And yet, we’re just getting over that when ‘Growing Pains’ takes everything so far and takes us deeper into Izzy’s own mind. It’s a thought provoking single that is, at times, has heartbreaking as it is masterful in it brilliant lyrics. It’s one of those tracks that you could never imagine being sung by any other artist.

And then we come full circle with the fun, catchy ‘Do I Make You Feel Alive?’ – yes Izzy you do! This is an unforgettable release that rounds off one of the most exciting years of music by an artist we’ve only known about for a few months.
