Jess Stewart’s ‘Don’t Call Me’ is a drum and bass belter

Following the crushes and romantic expectations of her earlier singles, Jess wants love from someone offering only lust.

Jess Stewart has a belter on her hands with ‘Don’t Call Me’. I love this one. I want it turned up. Arriving on 23rd October 2026, the single concerns wanting love from someone who only offers lust. Jess combines her pop songwriting with UK drum and bass, setting the track at 162 BPM.

From romantic expectations to frustration

Earlier this year, ‘Heartbeat’ explored the nerves of an unexpected crush. Its playful writing concerned racing hearts and losing your composure around someone you liked. Meanwhile, ‘Just Like the Movies’ examined the distance between romantic ideals and modern dating. Jess described wanting grand gestures while finding people reluctant to express their feelings.

More on Jess Stewart

The earlier ‘Twenties’ review picked out its synths, punchy drums and movement between spoken phrases and a larger chorus. Jess produced, mixed and mastered the single herself. Its playful account of entering adulthood gave her a different subject for danceable pop.

The independent Cambridgeshire artist has continued writing about falling in and out of love and the experiences of your twenties. Jess’s catalogue also includes ‘Summer Love’, with repeated support from BBC Introducing Cambridgeshire and Essex alongside performances around the county.

‘Don’t Call Me’ review

Jess’s singing is my favourite part of ‘Don’t Call Me’. She brings considerable range to the track, building towards the belted “never, ever leaving” chorus. The drum and bass setting suits her voice perfectly. It is a banging dance track, with a vocal performance I love hearing at full volume.

‘Don’t Call Me’ arrives on 23rd October 2026. Follow Jess on Instagram for release updates.
