Rising neo-soul artist Nyah Grace has released the captivating video for her latest single ‘Down’, taken from her upcoming album Divinely Devoted, out 20th June via Palawan Productions.
Channelling a rich blend of heartbreak, empowerment and emotional honesty, ‘Down’ sees Nyah deliver one of her most striking performances to date. The track pairs her luminous vocal tone with lush harmonies and gospel-tinged instrumentation, creating a soulful and swaggering backdrop for its tale of romantic disillusionment. It’s a song that doesn’t just recount pain, but transforms it into strength.
Speaking about the single, Nyah explains, “Writing ‘Down’ was a cathartic experience for me. It allowed me to channel the frustration, angst and eventual acceptance that came from a past relationship and the way I was treated. I loved experimenting with the space and dynamics in this song and giving my raw emotions room to breathe.”
The accompanying video mirrors the song’s emotional weight with a stylish, cinematic portrayal of a relationship falling apart. Set against a late 60s and early 70s visual aesthetic, Nyah plays the lead role in a story of rising tension and quiet resignation, culminating in a symbolic and powerful departure.
Building momentum
‘Down’ has already received strong early support, with BBC Introducing championing the track and major streaming playlists such as Spotify’s R&B Weekly and R&B UK featuring it prominently. Editorial coverage from Billboard and Ones To Watch has also helped build anticipation for Divinely Devoted, Nyah’s most accomplished body of work to date.
The album opens with ‘Back Of The Cab’, another standout moment that recently premiered as an instant grat with pre-orders of the record. The track sees Nyah recounting a teary late-night Uber ride following a tough evening, offering a confessional and gently grooving moment of reflection.
These new releases follow the success of lead single ‘Only Mine’, which has picked up widespread support from Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Radio 1Xtra and Spotify editorial teams.
A powerful summer ahead
Alongside her musical releases, Nyah Grace has been named one of the faces of the new Adidas x SIZE? Superstar campaign, which celebrates the evolution of both music and sneaker culture. She is also set to perform at the Global Soul Showcase at London’s Jazz Cafe on 6th July, with more live dates to be announced soon.
As she continues to shape her identity as an artist, Divinely Devoted looks set to be a defining chapter in Nyah Grace’s story.
