Molly Brown’s ‘Not See You’ gives me goosebumps

The prospect of meeting someone new carries more than excitement when an earlier relationship still influences how you feel.

Molly Brown’s voice gives me goosebumps on ‘Not See You’. Her singing draws me in, while the song feels like a rollercoaster of feelings about trying again after heartbreak. There is some hope here, but it never feels simple.

‘Not See You’ is Molly’s third single ahead of an EP planned for early 2027. She wrote it while finding her way through dating again after a breakup.

I respond to the uncertainty in this subject. Wanting to meet someone does not mean feeling ready for everything it brings. The prospect of another relationship introduces possibility alongside the memories and doubts left by the previous one.

Molly uses songwriting to process painful experiences, with her broader pop writing drawing on difficult relationships, sharp humour and frustration. Here, her focus is the unsettled experience of opening up again.

‘Not See You’ review

I enjoy the song more as an account of mixed feelings than a reassuring message about moving on. It captures how wanting something new and feeling unsure about it belong within the same experience. I don’t need Molly to resolve those feelings for the song to connect.

Her voice is what makes me want to return. I find her performance absorbing, and the uncertainty gives me something to sit with beyond the first listen. ‘Not See You’ leaves a stronger impression through those complications than a straightforward promise of better things ahead.
