London / Germany
Emily Volt is an independent rock artist whose songs combine heavy guitars, bold performance and deeply personal writing. Her four-track debut EP, TV Stopped Working, explores desperation, anger, loss, sadness and depression, capturing a transformative period in which Emily closed several chapters of her life. Tracks including ‘The Pill’, ‘Blind’, ‘Deceiving Gaze’ and the title track move between tense restraint, driving riffs and warped distortion, with Emily’s distinctive voice holding the project together.
Emily follows feeling rather than a fixed formula when writing, allowing each experience to shape the sound that follows. ‘Misleading Fortune’ channels frustration with superficial attitudes towards money, appearance and social status, while ‘Fragile’ centres on trauma, self-acceptance and allowing yourself to live with vulnerability. Across her music and visuals, Emily combines openness with bold outfits and energetic performance, building a theatrical rock world that she plans to take into heavier territory.
