Introducing Sonavaro: a free network for independent music

Artists, venues, tutors and creative professionals belong in the same conversation. Here’s what I’m building alongside TuneFountain.

Alongside TuneFountain, I’m building Sonavaro: a platform for independent musicians and the people who help music happen. Free registration is open, with profiles, link-in-bio pages, community discussions and opportunities forming its starting point.

I love independent music, and I want to support more of the work surrounding it. Artists need people to record with, places to perform and help presenting their releases. Producers, tutors, photographers and venues need ways to introduce their work and find people to work with too.

Sonavaro’s starting principle is simple: independent doesn’t mean alone. You don’t need a label or manager to join. The network welcomes solo artists, bands, DJs, session players, promoters, engineers, educators and creative businesses.

Free membership and what comes next

The free package starts with a professional profile. Introduce yourself, explain your role and share your work, whether you perform, run a venue, teach or provide a creative service. Directory discovery helps other members find you.

You also get a basic link-in-bio page, called My Links, to keep your links in one place. Add your music, socials, videos or tickets, with titles and optional images. Basic colour controls help you present the page in your own style.

Community discussions give you somewhere to ask questions, exchange advice and get feedback. Opportunity listings bring together requests and openings across independent music, including gigs, creative projects and session work.

Community access will remain available without a paid subscription, so joining the conversation won’t depend on upgrading.

The planned paid Starter membership adds an enhanced profile, an electronic press kit or portfolio, gig or service listings and basic analytics. An EPK would bring your release information and promotional material together. A portfolio would help creative professionals present their services and previous work.

The planned Artist membership adds a full website, custom domain support and client or booking enquiries. The aim is to help you give your work a home and make it easier for someone to approach you about a performance or project.

Later Professional plans would introduce availability, advanced bookings, quotes, invoices and deeper analytics. Enterprise options are also planned for larger organisations, labels and agencies. Paid membership prices and launch timings are still to be confirmed.

Sonavaro Tuition is a separate future service. The plan is for tutors and music professionals to upload teaching content without an upload fee, with learners initially able to buy individual tutorials or courses. Learner prices and creator revenue shares are still being developed.

My longer-term aim is to help independent artists manage more of their own promotion, bookings and business. Sonavaro should give you practical tools and access to specialist help while you keep making your own decisions and not giving away a percentage of everything you earn.

You’re welcome to create a free Sonavaro account, explore the platform and membership plans, and follow Instagram for updates.
